Industrial ceramics for Steel & metals

Continuous casting, ladle metallurgy, vacuum degassing, secondary refining — steel and ferrous production runs hot, corrosive and abrasive. Anderman supplies the alumina-graphite, zirconia-graphite, mullite and SiC refractories that handle the steelmaking chain, plus the high-purity alumina and quartz used in specialty alloy R&D.

Why Anderman

Three things specifiers come back for

Steelmaking-chain coverage

From submerged-entry nozzles to ladle slide-gate plates, tundish stoppers and immersion thermocouples — the full continuous-casting and ladle-met refractory chain from one specifier.

Heat-on-heat consistency

Heat-on-heat consistency in grade, dimension and performance. Our customers run kpi against pieces-per-tonne and heats-per-set; we specify accordingly.

Large-shape capability

Refractory shapes up to multi-tonne block sizes through partner manufacturing — sized for tundish, ladle and reheat-furnace service, not just smaller mill components.

Challenges & solutions

Thermal demands of this industry

SENs, tundish stoppers, slide gates

Submerged-entry nozzles (alumina-graphite, ZrO₂-graphite), tundish stoppers, slide-gate plates and ladle shrouds run in direct contact with molten steel at 1500–1650 °C with active slag and oxygen chemistry. Anderman supplies the carbon-bonded and oxide refractories used through the continuous-casting chain, with both standard grades and customer-specific shapes.
