Industrial ceramics for Defence

Armour development, radome and EW substrates, plasma-arc components, munitions test infrastructure, sensor and laser fixtures — defence specifies ceramics for hardness, dielectric performance and survivability. Anderman supplies dense alumina, SiC, boron nitride and aluminium nitride to UK and European defence supply chains.

Why Anderman

Three things specifiers come back for

UK & EU defence routing

Established supply into UK and European defence and aerospace programmes — through approved primes and tier-1s — with the export-control and end-use documentation that demands.

Hardness & dielectric range

Hard ceramics for armour and wear (alumina, SiC), high-dielectric and low-loss substrates for radomes and EW (alumina, quartz, AlN), and machinable insulators for fixtures (BN, BN-coated alumina) — full range from one specifier.

Programme-pace responsiveness

Programme cycles in defence move fast at qualification and slow in production. We staff and stock to handle both — rapid sample turnaround for new qualifications, scheduled supply against production-rate orders.

Challenges & solutions

Thermal demands of this industry

Ceramic-armour development samples

Ceramic armour systems use alumina, SiC and boron carbide tiles bonded to composite backings. Anderman supplies dense alumina (EA995/EA999) and SiC samples and test specimens for armour development programmes — geometry, grade and finish to research specification. Production armour is sourced through partner networks aligned to programme primes.
