Industrial ceramics for Automotive

From catalyst substrates and DPF cores to oxygen sensors, EV battery R&D fixtures and brake-system test rigs — automotive specifies ceramics in volume, with tight tolerance and unforgiving cost pressure. Anderman supplies the cordierite, SiC, zirconia and alumina components OEMs and tier-1s rely on, in both UK and French production.

Why Anderman

Three things specifiers come back for

Volume tolerance discipline

Tens of thousands of pieces per month at micron-scale repeatability, with PPAP-style documentation and dimensional control built into the production route — not bolted on for inspection.

Full emissions stack

Catalyst-converter substrates, DPF cores, oxygen-sensor electrolytes, NOx sensors and EV-battery test fixtures all sourced from one specifier — fewer suppliers, fewer change-control cycles.

Tier-1 supplier experience

Direct experience supplying tier-1 automotive component manufacturers in the UK, Germany and France — including the documentation, audit and APQP expectations that come with that customer base.

Challenges & solutions

Thermal demands of this industry

Cordierite honeycombs and SiC particulate filters

Three-way catalysts, GPF and DPF cores are extruded from cordierite (and SiC where thermal load and ash management demand it). Cordierite’s near-zero expansion lets a substrate survive cold start to 900 °C exhaust pulse without cracking. Anderman supplies cordierite raw material, formed substrates and the specialist refractory shapes used in catalyst manufacture.
