Industrial ceramics for Petrochemical

Catalyst supports, reformer tubes, reactor thermocouple sheaths, acid-handling pump components, flow-control nozzles — petrochemical specifies ceramics for chemistry that metals can't take. Anderman supplies the porous alumina, cordierite, zirconia and SiC grades that hold up across refining, ammonia, methanol and downstream chemicals.

Why Anderman

Three things specifiers come back for

Chemistry-first specification

Selection driven by acid, alkali, sulfur and alkali-vapour compatibility — not just temperature. We hold the data and the grade range to match a corrosive feed to a ceramic that survives it.

Custom geometries

Catalyst supports, reactor internals and flow-control parts are rarely standard shapes. Manufacturing partners handle bespoke geometry and batch sizes from R&D specimens to plant-fill quantities.

Plant-scale shapes

Large refractory shapes, structured catalyst supports and reactor internals up to multi-metre scale via our partner network — sized for industrial reformer and reactor scale, not just lab work.

Challenges & solutions

Thermal demands of this industry

Pellets, monoliths and structured supports

Porous alumina (EA99P) and cordierite are the workhorse catalyst support materials — controlled porosity, high surface area and chemical stability across the catalyst-life cycle. Anderman supplies pellet supports, monolith blanks and structured-packing ceramics for new catalyst formulations, plus the higher-temperature alumina grades for steam-reforming and ammonia-synthesis catalysts.
