Industrial ceramics for Alternative energy

Solid-oxide fuel cells, electrolysers, concentrated solar, hydrogen infrastructure, battery and storage R&D — alternative energy depends on oxide ceramics with precisely tuned ionic, thermal and dielectric properties. Anderman supplies the yttria-stabilised zirconia, AlN, alumina and porous-ceramic grades that the technology rides on.

Why Anderman

Three things specifiers come back for

Oxide-ceramic engineering

Deep specification expertise across the oxide and non-oxide grades that matter for alt-energy: Y-PSZ and Y-FSZ, AlN, porous alumina, high-purity quartz — selected for ionic conductivity, dielectric performance or chemical compatibility, not just temperature.

R&D-to-pilot supply

Comfortable supplying from gram-scale R&D batches through pilot-line quantities to series production. The same QA documentation across all three — no step change in supplier when the project moves out of the lab.

Cross-discipline materials

Fuel cell, electrolyser, solar receiver and battery R&D teams use overlapping materials. One specifier across all of them simplifies procurement and shortens the iteration cycle on new chemistries.

Thermal demands of this industry

YSZ electrolytes, interconnects and seals

Solid-oxide fuel cells (SOFC) and electrolysers (SOEC) run yttria-stabilised zirconia as the oxygen-ion-conducting electrolyte at 600–900 °C. Anderman supplies Y-PSZ and Y-FSZ in R&D forms — tape-cast green sheets, dense sintered discs and tubes, plus the porous nickel-cermet support materials and glass-seal precursors. For pilot lines we ramp the same grades into production volumes.
